Hysteresis
Hysteresis generally refers to the maintenance of an effect despite the cancellation of the physical quantity causing it. In relays, the magnetic hysteresis causes the deviation between the response and release values. In the case of measuring relays, the drop-out value is determined via the adjustable hysteresis.
